On Wednesday, September 30th, join the Lake Lure community to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the completion of the Lake Lure Dam, a remarkable structure that has stood for a century and played an enduring role in Lake Lure's history.
The celebration begins at 11 AM at the Lake Lure Gazebo in Morse Park, with:
- Remarks from town leaders, historians & engineers
- Recognition of the Dam’s incredible 100-year legacy
- Birthday cake & refreshments for all
- Antique boat display featuring historic wooden boats
- Antique boat parade from Washburn Marina to the Dam
- Special Dam christening ceremony to commemorate the centennial
