Streamflow Rehabilitation Assistance Program
The Division of Soil & Water Conservation is accepting applications for the Streamflow Rehabilitation Assistance Program (StRAP) in counties affected by Hurricane Helene. This process makes $38 million available for projects to repair stream damage caused by Hurricane Helene. Application Windows
Window 1 - Apply by February 20, 2026: Organizations in the following counties are eligible to apply: Alexander, Cabarrus, Catawba, Cherokee, Clay, Forsyth, Gaston, Graham, Iredell, Lee, Lincoln, Macon, Madison, Mecklenburg, Nash, Stanly, Surry, Swain, Union, and Yadkin.
Window 2 - Apply by March 13, 2026: Organizations in the following counties are eligible to apply: Alleghany, Ashe, Buncombe, Caldwell, Henderson, Jackson, McDowell, Mitchell, Rutherford, Watauga, and Wilkes.
Window 3 - Apply by April 17, 2026: Organizations in the following counties are eligible to apply: Avery, Burke, Cleveland, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, Haywood, Polk, Rowan, Transylvania, and Yancey.
